As a pilot who has spent years in the aircraft brokerage world, I have seen both the good and the bad side of this business. I have been in the aircraft industry for 25 years, and I have never believed it makes sense to charge a single pilot aircraft 3-4% of the aircraft value just to complete a listing or acquisition. In all cases, that fee changes the market of the asset by 50-150k. Charging the typical broker fee of a mid or heavy jet for a Vision Jet is a complete disservice to both the buyer and the seller. It is time to put a stop to excessive broker fees and bring more transparency and fairness to the market.
